Wavelength of IR-illuminator Pulsar Ultra-X850S is 850 nm. Sensors of digital night vision devices have the best sensitivity in this range and due to this fact, illuminator is effective for viewing remote objects.
IR-Illuminator Pulsar Ultra-X940S operates in "invisible" for human eye IR waveband. It allows the hunter observe animals without the risk of being discovered and scaring them.
Pulsar Ultra-XS IR illuminators feature increased optical power, which expands the riflescope's resources in constructing an informative image, plus it increases the range of effective use of night optics.
The adjustment function of the Pulsar Ultra-XS IR illuminator’s optical unit directs the luminous flux to concentrate maximum illumination in a particular area of the riflescope field of view, where it is needed for observation.
3-step power setting helps to achieve optimal intensity of illumination in specific observation conditions. Power is adjusted by sequential press of the button on the body on of IR flashlight.
Mounting Pulsar Ultra-X850S / X940S on the digital night riflescope or front attachment and taking it off can be done in seconds. With the help of bayonet mount the process is easy and reliable.
IR-flashlight connects to digital night vision attachments Forward F455 and riflescopes Digisight Ultra N450, Digisight Ultra N455 / Digisight Ultra N450 LRF, Digisight Ultra N455 LRF by means of special socket connector and receives power from digital night vision unit. The data about illumination power is shown in the status bar of night vision unit.
The radiation source in the Pulsar Ultra-XS IR are LED-type infrared diodes. Unlike most solutions based on laser diodes, LED IR illuminators are safe for vision when IR illuminator light hits the retina briefly.
Extra precise shooting requires an exact knowing of distance. Integrated laser rangefinder allows to measure distance in single measuring mode and in scanning mode with precision up to ±1 meter (yard). In the conditions of changeable landscape, when shooting from high stands it is recommended to use THD (True Horizontal Distance) measuring mode – in this mode rangefinder, taking into account angle of shooter’s elevation relative to a target (AoE; its value is also displayed on the screen) calculates true horizontal distance to an object.
