Thermion 2 has new features as follows:

- Thermion 2 XP50 has a ground-breaking temperature sensitivity (NETD lower than 25 mK) enabling detection of the smallest temperature differences. 

Thermion 2 XQ38 and XQ50 feature a 384x288/17µm thermal imaging sensor with high temperature sensitivity (NETD lower than 40 mK) 

offering excellent detail recognition in the most difficult weather conditions.

- the newly developed fast aperture germanium optics F/1.0 with improved heat energy transmissivity. 

The new objective lens optics boost image quality by improving contrast and lowering noise.

Yes, you can use Thermion in any weather conditions (fog, rain, mist etc.), night and day.

You can use all types of 30 mm compatible rings and mounts. 

There are no special recommendations – the rings should be good quality and sit as low as possible to facilicate zeroing.

When choosing rings, please take note of the riflescope dimensions.

The recommended torque setting is up to 2.5 Nm.

Please make sure:

• your riflescope has the latest firmware version. Click here to check.
• you have correctly and firmly installed the riflescope on your rifle. 
• you have correctly carried out the zeroing procedure described in the user manual. 

Please make sure you have made the following adjustments:

• First, adjust the diopter adjustment on the eyepiece to clearly see the icons on the display and in the status bar.
• Second, adjust the lens focus to see the object of observation clearly. Please note that re-focusing may be required as the distance to the object changes.
• Do the image calibration – either in manual mode (with lens cover closed) or in automatic mode.
• Select the most suitable observation mode – “Forest”, “Rocks” or “Identification” depending on the specific observation conditions.
• Go through the different color palletes.
• Manually adjust display contrast and brightness. We recommend keeping those two values at similar levels. A huge difference between them badly affects the image quality.
• Try turning Image Detail Boost ON and OFF. The greatest benefit of this feature can be enjoyed in scenery with high contrast and at shorter distances.

In the course of the calibration process the image freezes on the screen – this is normal and not a defect.

Default calibration mode is “Automatic” (the software decides when calibration is necessary) but you can change it to

“Manual” mode in the "Main menu" => "Calibration mode" to calibrate the riflescope when you need to based on actual image quality.

Please close the lens cover prior to manual calibration. We recommend using automatic mode all the time.

You are using the manual calibration mode without closing the lens cover.

Please make sure the lens cover is closed during calibration or switch to the automatic calibration mode if you do not want to close the cover.

No, a clicking sound is normal in the automatic and semiautomatic calibration modes.

You may switch to the manual calibration mode to avoid the sound. Remember to close the lens cover to make sure no ghost images appear on the display.

Calibration levels the background temperature of the microbolometer and eliminates image flaws (such as vertical stripes, ghost images of previous objects etc.).
Intervals between calibrations depend on operating time: the longer a thermal imager operates nonstop, the less frequently calibration is required.

Please note that a certain amount of non-functional pixels (max 0.5% of total quantity) is allowed by the sensor and is not considered a defect. You may try repairing the pixels using the respective menu item of your thermal imager. For details, please refer to the user manual.

Activate the pixel repair option in the device`s menu. You will be redirected to a window with picture in picture (PiP) mode and an auxiliary cross.

Operate with navigation buttons to move the cross into the bad pixel’s coordinates. Dead pixels disappear when the auxiliary crosss is in the correct position.

Press the ON/OFF button and check for the “OK” message on the display.

Yes, you can use a car adapter featuring a 5V / 2A output. 

Thermion does not support BPS battery pack for regular AA batteries. The Thermion riflescope uses an internal non-removable battery APS3 (3200 mAh) and an external battery APS2 (2000 mAh) which can be removed for charging.
You can also charge both batteries by connecting a charger to the Thermion riflescope. 
To ensure longer operating time, you can install an accessory APS3 battery (bought separately) in place of the APS2 battery.

The internal battery can be replaced only at the service center. Please contact your seller or national distributor to arrange return for repair.

When updating firmware, user zeroing profiles are saved.

After zeroing the reticle may be slightly off the centre of the field of view which is normal and does not affect accuracy.
If the riflescope is installed properly on your rifle, and the mount is well fixed too, you may not need to move the reticle a lot, thus the reticle will stay very close to the centre.

Yes, user zeroing profiles are saved even if the battery is not installed in the riflescope for a long period of time.

When using digital zoom, image is cropped so resolution will become lower and the image will look not as clear as when using the base (optic magnification).
It's a peculiarity of digital zoom in all devices, and it's not a defect.

You cannot do it by yourself. However you can send us a reticle type proposal and we will have it considered.

All Pulsar digital and thermal riflescopes feature a max. shock resistance of 6000 Joules.

The gun is equipped with a compensator or silencer that radiates heat when fired.

Solution

It is recommended to raise the height of the riflescope to a level at which the flare is not visible.

After that, you will need to re-zero the riflescope.
